Gene Everett Becraft
Gene Everett Becraft, son of Charles Richard and Nettie Marie (Long) Becraft, was born in Springfield, Missouri, on April 1, 1931, and went home to his Lord on July 23, 2006. He was united in marriage with Shirley Mae Warren and of this union there were seven children. Shirley preceded him in death on April 9, 1998. Gene was an iron worker, who worked on the construction of both Cox and St. John's Hospitals and many other well-known Springfield buildings. He is survived by one son, Alvin Becraft of Marshfield two daughters, Vickie Robinson and her husband, Dennis, of Fair Grove, and Sharon Ruby of Pleasant Hill 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents his stepfather, Milo Thornton one brother, Richard Becraft and four sons, Gene, John, Mike and Eddie Becraft. Graveside funeral services and burial with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Eastlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, July 26, 2006, at Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Rivermonte. Online memorial condolences may be made at www.thieme-shadel.com.
